This is interesting. One of the public radio stations here in .nl (3FM) has started collecting money for an emergency hospital in Darfur. They're doing this by having listeners pay for all sorts of things while three deejays live without food in a glass house in the middle of Utrecht.

One of the things listeners pay for are songs. That means they tell the jocks what song they'd like to hear, and how much they'll pay for that. It's pretty effective, proved by the crapload of people paying for their favourite song to be played.

The interesting part is that since this morning when they started doing this, I haven't heard one crappy pop song.
